AEROPOSTALE, an American retailer which owns more than 1,000 fashion stores aimed at children and teenagers, has announced plans to expand into Ireland later this year.
In a conference call last week, the New York-based company said that it expected to open in Ireland within six months after reaching an “exciting” licensing agreement with a local partner, Shoes for You Ltd.
The Dublin-based company is registered to Niall, Sean and Josephine Carty and it trades as Frascati Shoes in the Frascati Shopping Centre, Blackrock.
The American group’s retail brands include Aeropostale and PS Kids and are generally located in shopping centres.
Ireland will be Aeropostale’s 13th country of business. It already has shops in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
The company, which is quoted on the New York stock exchange, has been struggling to grow sales over the past year.
